What are system restore points?
System Restore is a feature in Microsoft Windows that allows the user to revert their computer’s state (including system files, installed applications, Windows Registry, and system settings) to that of a previous point in time, which can be used to recover from system malfunctions or other problems.
When a software has a score lower than 60, appscoreᴬᴵ will recommend the user create a system restore point automatically; no additional user action is needed.
An icon called “System restore to before installation of XY” will be created on the Desktop for easy access, if a user opts to have a system restore point created. This way a system restore can be launched with little effort to let users reset their system back to the state before the software was launched. This removes any issues or bad experiences, whenever normal uninstalls of a software don’t help. We keep track of such bad user experiences and incorporate them in our score. Based on this we can take further actions to improve user experience.
Alternatively, you can start the restore yourself by following the instructions from Microsoft i.e. by navigating through Windows settings.
